应兰州大学核科学与技术学院Marco Ruggieri教授邀请，中国科学院近代物理研究所的Emilio Ciuffoli研究员将于2019年11月28日来我校开展学术交流活动并作学术报告。
报告题目：Recent Developments and Future Prospects in Neutrino Physics
In the few last years we have seen several important developments in neutrino physics. Neutrino oscillations are now a well established and known phenomenon, even if it took more than 30 years to prove that they were the cause of the solar neutrino problem, and the oscillation parameters have been measured with a precision which seemed unrealistic just few years ago.I will give a brief review of the recent progress in the neutrino physics, such as the precise determination of theta_13 in 2012 and the first measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino Nucleus scattering in 2017, and discussing the open problems and the future prospects. I will also give a general overview of the theory of neutrino oscillations, focusing in particular the decoherence effect and what could change when working in a Quantum Field Theory framework (instead of the more commonly used Quantum Mechanic approach).
Emilio is currently associate professor at IMP. Before, he was postdoctoral researcher at IHEP in Beijing. He graduated in Pisa University in 2011. His main research activity is neutrino physics, in particular theory of neutrino oscillations, neutrino masses, as well as the study of evolution of wave packets in quantum mechanics and quantum field theory. His publications range from JHEP, Phys Rev D, Eur Phys J C, Phys Lett B.
